Abstract:
Energy efficiency and conservation (EEC) is a top priority energy policy in ASEAN Members States to achieve a low-carbon energy transition. Promotion of EEC is really a technology-oriented programme under appropriate EEC acts or law formulated by governments; thus, this report introduces EEC technologies that consist of passive and active technologies for commercial buildings which have been significantly increasing their share of energy consumption, especially electricity. Regarding EEC regulatory requirements, this report provides a guide on ‘energy standard and labeling systems’ for building energy performance and benchmarking. As promotion of EEC is bound to result in economic benefits under marketed energy prices, economic evaluation methods are also introduced in the report.
