Abstract: Data from the QNHS are used to show the numbers of workers employed in highly skilled occupations between 2000 - 2005, categorised by Irish, EU15, EU10 and non-EU nationality. The report outlines the employment permits system for highly skilled workers that was in place prior to 2007. The rights and obligations of highly skilled workers are considered. Along with all European Migration Network reports this country study will form part of a European synthesis report.
