Abstract: The principal objectives of this project were to provide a detailed analysis of the employment and socio-demographic structures of the area. Of particular relevance throughout the report is a focus on change in employment and demographic structures which has taken place since the first report in 1996. The study contains two separate and discrete components. The first component is based on a personally administered survey of all employers in the area. This involved an interviewer visiting the employer to complete the survey form. The second component is an analysis of material from the Census of Population for the area in question.
