Abstract:
The notion of innovativeness is a leitmotif of this article. The attempt to assess the innovativeness of the Polish economy created by the national business entities is the main aim of the article. The method of analysis was used as the research method. The characteristics of chosen rates of innovative activity was presented and assessed. The level of the innovativeness of the Polish business entities was determined with the use of the statistical methods as well as the direct indicators based on the results of product, process, organisational and marketing innovativeness. Subsequently, the comparison and assessment of the level of the innovativeness of the Polish economy with the countries from the European Union was made. The determinants of the innovative activity of the Polish business entities, indicating strengths and weaknesses as well as recommendations to increase the innovativeness of the Polish enterprises, were specified.
