Abstract:
Corporate turnaround situation refers to the point where financial and non financial performance of a company indicates that it will fail in a foreseeable future unless corrective action is taken. The available academic literature provides number of methods of spotting symptoms and causes of corporate decline which is overviewed here and confronted with a real life example of the specific turnaround situation. The conducted research indicates that theoretical approach to turnaround can be applied in practice however despite apparent symptoms of corporate decline business leaders very often do not take required corrective action on time. The majority of turnarounds are triggered by new management teams and new owners.
