Abstract: SMEs financing is a major challenge that most developed as well developing or in transition countries have to taken up. In the case of Tunisia, this type of firms forms the backbone of the economy and provides undoubtedly a key role in its development. However, these SMEs suffer from underfunding, lacking of own resources; and therefore, they are prime candidates to demand bank loans. In this paper, through a questionnaire survey conducted among Tunisian banks, we highlight and analyze the behavior of these banks facing these small firms seeking financial sources for their investment.
