Abstract:
The aim of this chapter was to analyse the potential for innovation and competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in Serbia. Presenting the strategy and the project which are determining the innovation of small and medium enterprise, it is necessary to know their significance for the further development of the Serbian economy. Following step is to elaborate the key actions of banks in the initial financing of small and medium enterprises. Finally, to point out the importance of the Strategy "Europe 2020" for improvement of innovation conditions in small and medium enterprises as well as to increase their participation in the global market.
