Chapter 2 in List Forum Band 30, 2004, vol. 1, pp 20-40 from List Gesellschaft e.V.
Abstract:
Pharmacies are the main distributors for pharmaceutical products in Germany. Due to the legal framework there is little price competition in this segment. With the liberalisation of the market and the entry of Internet pharmacies we expect considerable price effects. But an accompanying reduction of regulatory obstacles is required to gain the complete welfare effects that are achievable in competitive markets. (Original text only available in german language)
