Abstract: The paper analyses the interdependencies between the general structure of the federal system of public financies in Germany and the perspectives of restructuring the federal states. These questions are discussed refering to the example of the unification of the States of Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Special interest is laid on the changes in the federal fiscal systems during the period from 2005 to 2019. (Original text only available in german language)
