Gesunder Lebensstil: höhere Kosten der Gesundheits- und Altersicherung?

Chapter 5 in List Forum Band 32, 2006, vol. 1, pp 78-98 from List Gesellschaft e.V.
Abstract:
Based on a simple model, this article argues that indivdually rational behaviour, which is to postpone personal investments in health as long as health isn't scare, can result in high cost within the health system and within the pension system. The probability of this result rises if there is medical progress and declines if individuals have to finance part of the health care expenditues, which they demand from the health system.(Original text only available in german language)
