Growth Management in Bulgarian Innovation- and Technology-oriented SMEs: Some Preliminary Findings

Abstract: This paper presents the main results and findings from a pilot study of Bulgarian innovative and R&D intensive SMEs. Our research questions are connected with clarifying approaches and criteria for identification of technology-based SMEs, key characteristics of innovation and R&D activities of Bulgarian SMEs, their innovation collaboration and competitive behaviour. At the same time, we try to analyze and evaluate the main factors and problems of growth management of these companies. In the end we summarize the main findings and conclusion.
