Abstract:
The knowledge economy is based on four abstract pillars: innovation system, institutions, education and training, and ICT. The main ingredients in it are innovations – the source of higher productivity and better competitiveness. As one of the most successful approaches for increasing the competitiveness in the new conditions is pointed those of clusters. In the present survey we are making an attempt to deduce the relation of the clusters with the innovations as one of the stable starting-off points of the modern economy, based on the knowledge. The analysis is done on three levels: national, regional and functioning cluster level.
