Chapter 2016-02 in Entrepreneurship Teaching, Research and Practice in Global Environment – Building Bridges. Proceedings of the Seventh International Conference, 8 – 10 June 2016, Pomorie, Bulgaria, 2017, pp 41-67 from Bulgarian Association for Management Development and Entrepreneurship

Abstract: The XXI century has brought new educational, economic, political and social paradigms; the first two are key factors in the emerging profile of nations. The progress of the educational sector is vital to the development of the economic state of a country (Nkang, 2013). In the last decade, Puerto Rico (PR) has faced an economic crisis without precedent. That is why the objective of this research is to identify, analyze, and evaluate the existing Entrepreneurship Education Programs in PR, consider their strengths and weaknesses, and evaluate the implementation of a nontraditional Entrepreneur Education and Training (EET) program on the Island. The main goal is to achieve an entrepreneur culture, maximizing societal perceptions of high entrepreneurial capabilities in order to bring a contribution to the Island’s economic growth and development.
