Abstract:
Differences in early entrepreneurial activity between men and women can be easily identified by global/national survey results (such as GEM reports). We narrowed our research only for comparison of the content and quality of business proposals. Therefore, we investigated in detail the differences between female and male business proposals, which participants (n = 332 proposals, 24 women) provided, when asking money from Slovak Business Angels Network. We have found no significant differences to the disadvantage of women and finally well-written women’s applications were equally likely to be accepted by investors as those of men. The paper also indicates directions of future research and recommendations.
