Preservers on Banach Algebras

Abstract: In the monograph with the title Preservers on Banach Algebras we are observing the problem of characterizing mappings on some algebras that preserve a certain subset or a certain property or a certain relation. In the last few decades a lot of results on preservers on matrix algebras, as well as on more general rings and operator algebras, have been obtained. In this monograph we are studying some recent results concerning linear and additive mappings preserving invertibility or singularity, maps on real matrices preserving commutativity, and order preserving maps on upper triangular idempotent matrices.
