Abstract: Knowledge is one of those company resources which are difficult to imitate. Such resources are the most important factors of competitive advantage and they improve business performance. Knowledge is transmitted through the organizational culture, business strategy, skills, processes, documents and employees. Managing knowledge means maximizing the effectiveness of the company by creating, storing, sharing and using knowledge. Among the most important factors that enable effective knowledge management within an organization is certainly the appropriate organizational culture. It includes beliefs, values and behaviours through which people in and outside the organization receive and make sense of the communicated data and related embedded information. Our study was designed to identify important linkages between types of organizational culture and processes of knowledge management in higher education institutions.
