Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of ISO 9000 standards. We focus on the following aspects: (1) general applicability in higher education, (2) stakeholders and communication, (3) quality culture, innovation and improvement, (4) neglected quality dimensions or factors, and (5) resources expenditure.
