Abstract: Meike Kilian illuminates the introduction of insurance supervision by using a new approach anchored in modern regulatory law. She shows that those phenomena which serve and justify the current day regulations were already to hand within the insurance supervisory legislation history of origins and that they are crucial to their introduction.
