The Economic and Social Impacts of the Permanent Fund Dividend on Alaska
Scott Goldsmith
Chapter Chapter 4 in Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend, 2012, pp 49-63 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The Permanent Fund Dividend has been paid annually to every Alaska resident for 29 years and has become firmly established as an institution, but its impacts on the economic, social, and political landscape have not been systematically examined since shortly after the program was created. Consequently, the discussion of impacts in this chapter is based on the observations of the author, interpretation of anecdotal information, and a limited number of surveys and other analyses of specific effects.
