Problems with Pilot Projects
Karl Widerquist
Chapter Chapter 24 in The Palgrave International Handbook of Basic Income, 2023, pp 493-506 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Basic Income pilot projects can only produce limited information. Although that information is often valuable, it is incapable of answering the big questions that citizens and policymakers are most interested in. Widerquist explores the mismatches between different groups’ expectations and discusses ways in which pilot projects can be planned and their results communicated that will enable comprehensible answers to be given to the questions that citizens and policymakers are asking.
