Abstract: Abstract For the most part, this chapter includes interviews, field notes, and data analysis. It addresses the following fundamental questions: What are the day-to-day realities of women as caregivers during wartime? What challenges do women as caregivers face in these arduous circumstances? How has care work evolved over time? What has changed and what has not changed in post-conflict settings? How is care work encompassing the general public? What is the impact of gendered roles on women? Why have the voices of women (in general and as caregivers) remained unheard and their opinions excluded from post-conflict reconstructions? There are no simple answers to these questions. This chapter emphasizes on the role women occupy in wartime and post-conflict periods in order to reveal the gendered nature of care work and domestic activities. It highlights the contribution made by women as caregivers in building resilient IDPs societies and violence against women as a call for concern. Consequently, the field survey resulted to the topic, The impact of care work on armed rebellion.
