Chapter Chapter 4 in Milton Friedman, 2019, pp 39-60 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is noted that Friedman became involved in disputes about the publication of Friedman and Kuznets, Income from Independent Professional Practice 1945; Friedman’s visit to Chile in 1975 and his association with Augusto Pinochet; and over the criticism of Friedman and Schwartz’ Monetary Trends in the United States and the United Kingdom 1982, all of which Friedman evidently found unpleasant. The treatment of the first two in Two Lucky People is considered and assessed against the facts. Of the third, it is noted that Friedman and Friedman all but avoid discussing it, and possible reasons for this are considered.
