Chapter Chapter 8 in Milton Friedman, 2019, pp 85-131 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract It is noted that the first 20 years of Friedman’s professional work saw him write on a wide range of topics. The miscellaneous appearance however conceals his consistent objectives in pursuing empirical understanding of economic matters, and his consistently empirically-minded approach to pursuing that understanding. These patterns become apparent, as does his great cleverness is advancing his understanding of the matters under consideration.
