Chapter 2 in Barbara Bergmann, 2026, pp 11-32 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Barbara Bergmann was a fierce feminist, an outstanding economist, and a tireless activist for social reforms. She always fought for women’s emancipation and empowerment. She published extensively in major academic economic journals, and wrote several pivotal books on racial and gender equality in the job market, child care, and social security. She was also engaged in spreading her progressive agenda outside academia, in the public arena.
