Chapter 2 in The Past, Present and Future of the European Union, 2004, pp 6-20 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract First I wish to thank you all, and Professor Robert Solow in particular, for your invitation. As some of you may know, before becoming Prime Minister of Italy and later President of the European Commission, I was professor of industrial economics for 25 years. Being here with you today, therefore, takes me back to my younger days.
