A chapter in International Economic Relations, 1969, pp 134-138 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The papers by A. Nove and I. Vajda1 contain a concrete and full analysis of the characteristics and recent trends of East-West trade and make valuable suggestions for its future development. The two papers supplement each other very well, in so far as Nove concentrates on problems of political motivation and economic management, and Vajda on those of the structure of trade and pro­duction. There is not much left to say that is original in opening the discussion.
