Discussion of the Papers by Professor Cooper and Mr Lamfalussy
Charles P. Kindleberger and
Andrew Shonfield
A chapter in North American and Western European Economic Policies, 1971, pp 223-236 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Professor Hicks said that these were two very serious, important and far from easy papers. He would deal with Professor Cooper’s, which fell into three parts. The first looked at the growth of the international capital market, centring on the figures in Table 9.4. This first part did deal to some extent with the problem of the Euro-dollar and of equities, but the most precise information was for the market for bonds.
