Chapter Chapter 18 in Economics of International Migration, 1958, pp 251-272 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract International migration in the Far East is in part the normal movement from areas where land is scarce in relation to population to more empty areas where the factors complementary to labour are more abundant. There are, however, special complications in the pattern of migration in the Far East which result partly from the impact of an external administration and economic pattern, and partly from the wide differences in culture and technical skill of the peoples inhabiting this area.
