Chapter Chapter 14 in Economic Development for Eastern Europe, 1968, pp 163-173 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Numerous problems characterize international economic relations among the countries belonging to the two systems — capitalist and socialist. Among these problems may be mentioned the prerequisites for the appearance and development of such relations; the nature of the economic ties between the two systems and the character of the economic laws and principles governing them; forms taken by these relationships; their fundamental trends and further prospects; and their economic, political, and social effects. The present paper concentrates on the first two questions.
