Abstract: Abstract In view of numerous programmes and attempts to reform the socialist economies, I feel compelled to start by stating my own understanding of the term ‘reformed socialist economy’ (RSE). (This term was chosen by the organisers of the Conference; I am accepting it as given.) In my interpretation of a RSE I will refer primarily to the recent developments in Yugoslavia, which are not only well-known to me but, in my opinion, quite indicative of possible further developments in other socialist countries.
