Abstract: Abstract This paper is concerned with policies that might improve macro-economic performance in the context of a North American system of decentralised wage bargaining and multi-year overlapping contracts. I begin by stating the argument in four major points and then devote the rest of the paper to substantiating and fleshing out these points:
