Abstract:
Abstract To understand the present state of the Greek economy, one might begin by considering a number of its structural characteristics and performance indicators. Whenever possible these factors should be compared to those prevailing in other European Community (EC) countries. If this analysis were supplemented by a review of the institutional factors affecting the operation of enterprises, the resulting observations ought to provide a satisfactory basis for assessing the economy’s overall performance, as well as its main problem areas.
