Abstract:
Abstract Research on the distribution of income is of fairly recent origin in Belgium. The problem did come up more than once in connection with other work,2 but nobody investigated the facts systematically until the Department of Applied Economics in the University of Brussels began to do so.3 Its work became both a stimulus and a help in drawing up official national accounts; the results were pub-lished in 1963 and cover the period 1953–62.
