On Some Open Questions in Statistical Decision Theory
G. Menges
Chapter Chapter 6 in Risk and Uncertainty, 1968, pp 140-162 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The concept of decision ranges from predetermined actions, e.g. reflexes or instinctive actions, to chaotic decisions in entirely open situations. Both extremes are excluded from our considerations. We shall deal only with those decisions which terminate a conflict. The person involved in the conflict is the decision-maker, an idealized figure assumed to be equipped with unlimited logical faculties and computational capacity.
