Abstract:
Abstract This essay focuses upon the relationship between labour force migration and the formation of regional and sectoral labour markets. Migration is also discussed in relation to capital accumulation and overall national development; and some hypotheses are established about how labour force migration has been an integrating factor in Mexico’s capital accumulation process. For this purpose, an analysis is made of studies on migration and employment that were carried out in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara and six small towns in the State of Jalisco.
