Abstract: Abstract The concept of ‘structural change’ has been used in connection with a wide range of economic development problems. It is therefore necessary to limit the scope of the topics to be treated at the beginning. In the following, structural change will be used to describe only long-run development problems for those parts of the advanced economies that are usually termed manufacturing industries.
