Chapter Chapter 25 in Advances in the Economics of Religion, 2019, pp 405-422 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract What is the effect of religion on economic outcomes? Religion is a complex social phenomenon affecting individual choice and behavior through numerous channels. This contribution summarizes some of these effects. We focus on the causality direction from religiosity to economic performance, therefore skipping the potential influence that the economic environment and personal realizations can have on religious beliefs.
