Chapter 10 in Competitive Innovation Management, 2000, pp 258-263 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The past eight chapters have demonstrated a number of points. First, the CR story demonstrated that a wide variety of management systems and practices can affect a company’s innovation performance. Part I of the book built on that story to develop a number of definitions and concepts that helped to illustrate two things. First, they showed how the innovation process works during the key phases of idea generation, funding, and development. Second, they showed the key methods of improving the innovation process during each of these phases. Part I ended with a brief discussion of how managers could diagnose problems in innovation systems and how they could identify opportunities for improving their innovation systems.
