Abstract: Abstract Globalization has changed the political and economic landscape of the world. The world has become more interdependent in trade and services. Telecommunications, transportation or logistics, electric power, water supply, financial services, and more have all become international and often global activities. National public sector enterprises in these activities are being commercialized or privatized, and increasingly merged with similar enterprises in other countries to form regional, continental or even global enterprises. These developments not only extend the reach of their activities and introduce important economies of scale, but also internationalize their operations and management. This in turn makes the world increasingly interdependent.
