Best Practices from the Best Trainers

Sheri Caldwell and Linda Gravett

Chapter Chapter Eight in Using Your Emotional Intelligence to Develop Others, 2009, pp 77-90 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract After reviewing the survey data from our training specialists, we are confident that the responses received support the topics we’ve been discussing. Some of the responses clearly came from trainers who exhibit the key components of Emotional Intelligence (EI): Interpersonal Skills, Intrapersonal Skills, Stress Management Abilities, and General Happiness and Positive Attitude. Some responses are at the complete opposite end of the spectrum—from those in need of EI enhancement. This was surprising to us as the responses came from professional trainers and/educators. We were happy to note, however, that for a number of the questions no one selected the response indicating the lowest level of EI.
