Governance Structures for Family Businesses

Frederick D Lipman

Chapter Chapter 3 in The Family Business Guide, 2010, pp 47-62 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter describes the best corporate governance structures for a family business. Family firms range from very small “mom and pop” businesses to multigenerational, advancedstage companies with many shareholders. The best practices recommended in this chapter must be tempered by the size and stage of development of the family firm.
