Securitization and Insurance

Marcelo Ramella

Chapter Chapter 18 in Global Perspectives on Insurance Today, 2010, pp 229-244 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract As financial markets display signals of growing convergence, attention is dedicated to understanding the dynamics that underpin this development. Shedding light on the securitization process is part of this endeavor, as securitization constitutes one key element of the convergence process. As the financial crisis has demonstrated, the cross-sectoral and cross-country convergence of financial markets brings with it an array of fundamental challenges, many of which are far from being understood, let alone managed.
