Abstract: Abstract Overall, Human Resource Management provides the most vital support function in aiding the transformation of humans into workers. This is a form of system integration under instrumental rationality because it seeks to integrate labour’s compliance into a system of goal-achieving objectives. Such a process creates two kinds of persons. This somewhat pathological split in personality is shown in Table 12.1: The relationship between (i) and (ii) is asymmetrical because the natural relationship among natural persons has been displaced. This replacement takes the form of relations between corporate person and natural person. This can be shown as: As Figure 12.1 shows, one of the consequences of the secondary socialisation process is the creation of a partly conflicting multitude of personal identities. Starting with 12.11, the relationship among natural persons is of a natural character relating naturally to each other. It brings people together naturally: At the corporate socialisation level of 12.11, the natural person is split into a natural and a corporate person. This split creates conflict and contradictions, shown as as both persons do not necessarily have the same attitudes. They are naturally and corporately constructed. This is neither natural nor do these persons relate to each other naturally.
