Abstract:
Abstract A United Kingdom (UK)-based mining company funds a venture capital fund for black entrepreneurs in South Africa, a US oil-exploration firm funds an Information Technology (IT) training scheme in a Mexican town and a French food producer funds a conference for experts on child nutrition in Poland.1 These are examples of multinationals engaging in building up the social fabric of developing countries in which they operate. For the firm they represent examples of corporate citizenship projects and form part of their community engagement strategy. They are reported in their annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports.
