Abstract The beautiful island state of Hawaii has over one million residents. Together, they probably use about 40 million rolls of toilet paper ever year. But one of the greatest – and completely unintended – viral marketing feats in history made nearly every single roll disappear off the shelves of Hawaiian stores.
