A chapter in Leading for success, 2008, pp 202-209 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The journey through the seven chapters of great leadership brings us to a full circle. With each of the sides looked at in relative detail, it is clear that each side can be taken off the shelf as needed and/or combined with one or two of the other skills to provide a suitable combination of skills for the situation facing the leader at that moment. The approach has been one of tailoring, one of adapting, and one of pushing for passionate selfimprovement to serve followers in the way they need it. Ultimately, this increases the shelf life of the leader and increases the competitive advantage of the organization they work for.
