Chapter 8 in Financial Liberalization and Economic Performance in Emerging Countries, 2008, pp 173-193 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Financial liberalization has been subjected to divergent viewpoints, ranging from blanket approvals to critical evaluations, of measures, which follow with their impact on the economy concerned. Prescriptions of these reforms, as in mainstream doctrines, usually hover around an ‘efficiency’ argument for maximizing growth. Financial liberalization as held in these theories makes for higher growth by allocating the investible savings in the best possible manner.
