Abstract:
Abstract To improve their performance and respond to market pressures such as international competitiveness, outsourcing and harder to please customers, manufacturing firms are now being forced to develop closer relationships with their suppliers and customers (Corbett, Blackburn and Van Wassenhove 1999, Kotabe, Martin and Domoto 2003). These new inter-organizational structures have resulted in the emergence of tightly coupled networks, also called supply chains, within many sectors (Andersen and Christensen, 2005).
