The Big Fix: the Case for Public Spending
James K. Galbraith
A chapter in Unbearable Cost, 2006, pp 184-186 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The economy is in trouble. Investment, far below what it was two years ago, shows little sign of revival. Consumer spending, having held up remarkably during the same time, is now more likely to tail off than to accelerate. And while the Federal Government could soon be spending an extra one or two hundred billion dollars on war, otherwise its spending is also in decline.
