Chapter 8 in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, 2009, pp 85-96 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract John Grinder refers to living on a plot of land in the 1970s with Judith DeLozier, where ‘One of the amazing characters who we’ve crossed paths with was a tall, slope-shouldered Englishman by the name of Gregory Bateson’ (DeLozier & Grinder 1987:5). We have already referred to Gregory Bateson numerous times. Who was he, and what was his involvement with NLP? Significantly, Bateson provides a direct link between the founding of cybernetics in the 1940s and the origins of NLP.
